Basic Fly Fishing

Basic Fly Fishing

We cordially invite you to attend one or two days of outdoor education and relaxation on the art and science of fly fishing. Our staff will provide beginner and "old pros" with enough skills to catch fish on a fly. Because of the personal attention you will receive, your skills at any level will be improved.

Whether you are new to fly fishing, or an experienced angler, our school is sure to provide you with new skills, knowledge and techniques that will bring increased pleasure in the sport. Come join us for a most enjoyable and rewarding way to lean this pastime.

Schools run from three hour workshops to two-day sessions, starting early May through late September.

While at the school you'll learn:

The forward cast, roll cast, reach cast, roll cast pickup, and how to false cast and shoot line...all under the watchful eyes of the New England Fly Fishing School instructors.

The essential knots for tying on a fly and for making and repairing leaders. Only three or four knots are needed. The instructors will show you a couple of new ones that are as easy as tying your shoe.

How to select the right flies for trout, bass, panfish, salmon, steelhead, and saltwater fish.

Fee:
$80.00/hour per person (minimum three hours).
Hours: Workshops begin at 9 AM; lunch is from noon to 1 PM; afternoon workshops from 1-4 PM. Flexible scheduling may be available.
